We’ve got decades of experience installing blinds here at Appeal Home Shading. We’ve designed all manner of bespoke blinds and shutters, but today we want to focus on one particular type: roller blinds.
Roller blinds are sometimes dismissed as being old-fashioned. Our customers sometimes refer to them as being out of style or having “seventies kitsch,” but they’re also incredibly popular. Roller blinds have allegedly been uncool for years, but if that were true, we wouldn’t be selling as many.
In short, roller blinds are not so much old-fashioned as timeless. Here are several reasons why.
Versatile Roller Blinds
Ask someone to imagine a set of roller blinds, and they’d probably think of a manually operated set. You can picture yourself operating a clunky, awkward set of blinds already, can’t you? The dangling side chain is broken, and the mechanism is worn from years of use, so every time you turn it, it feels like it’s going to break.
Well, we can tell you right now that this stereotype is out of date. Modern roller blinds are not like that. They’ve benefited from advances in technology, and ours are built to last. A set of roller blinds from Appeal will operate just as smoothly as any other make on the market.
That’s not all. The days of pulling a stubborn, worn-out cord are over, and we can now supply and install remote-controlled roller blinds. Our roller blinds come with optional ULTRA® PLUS technology, which allows you to operate them through a smartphone, or via voice command via Alexa or Google. You can even set them on automatic timers or to respond to specific lighting levels. Electric roller blinds are not old-fashioned; they’re a modern and sophisticated addition to the home.
Contemporary Blinds From Appeal
Roller blinds don’t just look good, they have a lot of benefits. For example, they add an extra thermal layer to a window and thus increase the energy efficiency of your windows. Roller blinds can help keep your house warmer in winter and cooler in summer, so can be used all year round.
Plus, they’re some of our best blinds for reducing glare. Our screen roller blind fabrics are designed to allow an optimal amount of light transfer, so you’ll be able to watch television without having to block out the sun completely. We have over 400 fabric and colour options to choose from, so you can design something unique. We even have our environmentally friendly eco-roller blinds if you’re concerned about your carbon footprint.
So in conclusion, roller blinds are not old-fashioned. They’re an excellent shading choice, and we are very proud to supply them.
