At Appeal we install thousands of conservatory blinds and window shutters each year. We always strive to make sure that our products and service are to the highest quality. Occasionally with such precise and made to measure products human error does occur. We promise that we will do our utmost to rectify any such errors as promptly as possible.

We wish to reassure you that all reviews posted on the independent FEEFO site are completely genuine and are only posted by real customers of Appeal. The system ensures that no third party can post reviews. Customers are contacted directly by the independent FEEFO organisation and their comments are posted directly onto the closed FEEFO site. No other person or persons can access the FEEFO site. We also assure you that no pressure or financial inducement is made to our customers to post favourable comments on the site. The products are both very good as was the fitting on both. Customer service and information was really bad

Service rating : Where do I start. This company should be avoided at all costs. They are a total shambles who simply do not understand the concept of customer service in the 21st Century. From start to finish our experience with Appeal Shading has been a disappointment.
1) They say orders will take 6-8 weeks, wrong they take 10-12 weeks plus
2) They say they will keep you informed every step of the way, wrong they will not contact you and you will need to chase them all the way.
3) They contract out delivery to a 3rd party courier who really are a bad joke. They have no concept of time or customer service. Deliveries come from Wolverhampton and they don't start work at the depot till 7.30am so the earliest that they can deliver shutters if you are like us 100 miles away is 10.30, despite promising to be there for 9.30. You need to hope and pray that your delivery and the Appeal fitter happen to be in the same place at the same time otherwise more delays.
4) They demand all their money up front before the fitter even starts work, although in our case the fitter forgot and was paid after installation
5) They pride themselves on having a Feefo review score of 4.7/5 - how is a wonder to me.
6) They have a complaints procedure that doesn't work - they should contact you within 5 working days if you have a complaint - they don't.

In the end I contacted Appeal CEO Michael Madigan who assured me they took customer service very seriously and promised to look into my complaint - he passed it on to his Operations Director who replied saying although they admitted they were at fault and lessons would be learned they weren't prepared to compensate us for a catalogue of errors on their part.
My latest email has gone un-answered.

If like me you expect and want a pleasant experience with a company that you are entrusting your hard earned cash to in return for a quality product and good customer service I recommend you look elsewhere. This company are to be avoided.

I am sorry that we experienced an issue with the delivery of your shutters which resulted in the installation being regrettably postponed.

We have always found our delivery company to be very reliable, unfortunately on this occasion there was an issue with communication for which I do sincerely apologise.

It is regrettable that you are unhappy with our position regarding your request for compensation, however I trust you are able to enjoy the benefits offered by the shutters for many years to come.

Service rating : AVOID!!!!!! I would give minus stars if I could.
I recently made the mistake of trusting this company. I was told that my new luxurious blinds would be of the highest quality where as, in reality they were frayed inferior cloth that didn’t look or act in the way I was told they would by the salesman.
I have to say I liked the salesman and felt secure in the advice that he gave me. The pricing was huge so initially I declined. However, after he advised that I could save nearly half the cost I felt this was more in line with my initial thoughts. The cost still being a major investment of over £4000 so still not cheap. I was also advised that if I wanted them for Christmas I would have to order immediately. Reluctantly, I accepted (my project had run on for some 4 months already) as I really wanted to be finished and as I said, I trusted the salesman. When I was advised of the survey date I was confused and it was some weeks away. After questioning this I was again advised not to worry as they would still be fitted for Christmas. Making my project complete.
However (again), when the surveyor arrived I was faced with yet another problem. I had kindly been sent some colour swatches (initially being very pleased with my choices) of which I had chosen my desired colour. The surveyor agreed this was perfect to coordinate with my room BUT the STANDARD bottom rails DID NOT coordinate with the blind colour or the room. Oh no what to do. He did say that there were other colours so I chose. I then received a call neatly 2 weeks later telling me if I went for this but they would cost more. When I explained that this hadn’t been mentioned initially AT ALL neither the standard or the special colour situation and that the colour of the standard rail didnt go and that I expected this to be done at no extra cost the gentleman then told me that they would not be made in time for the blinds to be fitted for Christmas. I was quite upset at this as if they had rung me immediately there would be no time constraints. After a long call the gentleman finally agreed to try. I remember thinking then what poor customer service this was.
However (again) things just went from bad to worse. When the fitter finally came to fit said blinds it turned out that he had been sent all the wrong fittings. The blinds didn’t fit correctly, with a massive gap that you could see the outside through. They were frayed and the quality was inferior. Then to add insult to injury the fitter advised he had to collect a further £3000 I obviously explained that we had paid in full. He rang his boss and was told again to collect it. I then rang the head office and they told him no we didn’t owe anything. That was enough. I told the fitter to remove the inferior product as I would not accept delivery. So to this day these people have my money and I don’t have blinds. Please do not trust these people.

I don’t know here to start!! I placed my order with Appeal in September and stated that this was on the condition of the stutters being installed before Christmas..... it is now the 31st of December and the job is half finished. I’m a very disappointed customer who WILL NOT be using this company again and will be making sure my friend and family are also aware of their broken promises.

Appeal Reply:

I am sorry that we were unable to complete your installation on the agreed date due to the original installer becoming unavailable at short notice.

We did contact you prior to the appointment to advise of the unavoidable situation and arranged for an alternative fitter to attend. However we did advise that he would not be able to complete the entire installation.

I note that your installation was completed on the 3rd January and trust you are now happy with your shutter installation.

From the initial call, the design consultation, the survey and fitting, every step was efficient, knowledgeable and very helpful. Communication was easy and I’m thrilled with my shutters and with the advice I received from Suzana Noble and Richard Jones. Richard did a wonderful job installing the shutters and was careful to fold all the packaging for easy disposal. My bedroom has been transformed with these shutters and I am the envy of the street. Truly exceptional service.

Service rating : The service provided was excellent. I was contacted by emails, telephone calls and texts every step of the way and there was always someone at the other end of the line to talk to if I had any queries.
Product : I am very pleased with the shutters which are from floor to ceiling. They fit well, look good and are just right in the space required.

The fitters were extremely quick, clean and tidy.

Service rating : all the pople I spoke to and dealt with were very accommodating and pleasantHowever the whole experience was ruided by the fitter asking me to pay the final instalment BEFORE he had finally fitted the blinds.
He told me he wouls hhave to leavw without fitting unles I paid.

How unbusinesslike is that?
I had ALREADY padi in excess of £7000 anmd had receveid NOTHING.
Product : the product is fine. I had had pinoleum blinds 8 years previously in aqua and needed to change the colour

Service rating : Fitters were very efficient and professional. They spent time getting the settings correct and explaining use of the awning. They were also friendly and approachable and tidied up after themselves. Would highly recommend Leon who came out to survey & fit
Product : Still early to confirm but we are very pleased with the awning. It looks brilliant and is extremely easy to operate
