We’re pleased to announce that our chosen charity for 2016 will be the RNLI Dart. Over the next 12 months money will be raised through brochure donations as we match every single customer brochure request with a donation to the charity.

The Dart Inshore Lifeboat serves the River Dart from its navigable limits at Totnes, to the deepwater harbour of Dartmouth itself and out into the immediate seas beyond. It is flanked to the East by the Torbay lifeboat at Brixham and to the west by the Salcombe lifeboat.

The charity was chosen due to The Chairman of the Appeal Group, Michael Madigan’s strong associations with the area, and as a keen boatsman he is very aware of the importance of staying safe on the water.

Michael and his wife Jane are also patrons for RNLI Dart, speaking of his fondness for the charity Michael said: ‘I am delighted to be partnering with the RNLI as our charity for 2016. I spend many weekends out on the water and it is reassuring to know that there is a dedicated team like the RNLI Dart out there to keep me safe.

“I look forward to moving forward with this partnership and working with them on any upcoming projects.”

Speaking of the new partnership Lifeboat Operations Manager Rob Clements said: “Each RNLI Lifeboat Station is built on the strength of its supporters. In the front rank of our champions stand Mike and Jane Madigan who from our very beginnings have been with us. Their encouragement and friendship have been invaluable. We are proud to name them as Patrons of Dart Lifeboat.”
