A DIY expert has advised home-owners that they can improve areas of their property with just a few licks of paint.

Dayna Fields, writing for Jackson Newspapers, believes that repainting the walls, replacing old hardware and updating the flooring could add another dimension to a home.

Repainting the walls is a “great way to update your home”, claims Fields, as it refreshes the walls. Furthermore, home-owners can simply paint doors, cabinets and crown molding in a bid to rejuvenate their home.

By replacing hardware, home-owners can make small updates that they can “incorporate into later construction projects”.

For example, replacing cabinet handles, knobs and drawer pulls in high-traffic areas like the kitchen or bathroom will give a home an extra spring in its step.

“Make sure to give your door hinges and drawer tracks a good oiling to prevent squeaking,” adds Fields.

Alternatively, property owners may want to turn to suitable conservatory blinds in order to transform their extension into a highly desirable living space.

Finally, sooeveningnews.com suggests that updating the flooring could be a winning technique to regenerate a home.

“To cover existing flooring, use floating laminate pieces. Installing wood laminate in your bathroom, bedroom, kitchen or living room is easy with snap-together pieces,” claims the site.
