Why should you opt for window shutters?

Appeal Home Shading Design Consultant, Ruth Newman, gives her top tips on why window shutters are not only a stylish choice for the home, but how they can also provide optimum privacy for occupants.

Many customers I’ve had over the years come to Appeal because they’re concerned about privacy in the home. A lot of them dismiss the idea of shutters on large windows because they don’t want them to block out such lovely views, but the products on offer at Appeal offer a stylish way to decorate a room whilst keeping the beautiful scenery outside on show.

The most convenient way to ensure privacy in rooms with large or bay windows is with Appeal’s window shutters. You can easily adjust the louvres and at this time of the year prevent the cold coming in through windows, ensuring that your home remains comfortable and cosy.

Shutters are also great for bathrooms as not only are they practical but they can be adjusted so that they let in light without sacrificing a person’s privacy. One of my favourite products is Appeal’s specially designed bathroom shutters, which are waterproof and easy to clean, making them perfect for high moisture areas.

One aspect of design that I’ve found is becoming increasingly popular is the incorporation of shutters between rooms. Many of my customers love the fact that shutters allow you to open up a room and let in light but still retain a high level of privacy should you need it. If you’re looking for a contemporary alternative to doors between areas such as kitchens and dining rooms, then shutters are a lovely feature for the home.
